“What about you?” Ethan whispered, reaching for her hand. “Do you see yourself as a lamb in the Master’s arms?”

The question nearly knocked Glory off her feet, and blew the air right out of her lungs.

She was a Christian, of course. But there were so many souls so much needier than her own, that she rarely considered herself in the equation.

“You are, you know,” Ethan said, standing. He placed a soft kiss on her forehead, then wrapped his arms tight around her as if he would never let go. “My sweet Glory. Jesus’s little lamb.”
