Dimitri’s work was every bit as boring as his wardrobe, and Marius stared at the fancy interior of the plush tower block office while the men around him rattled on. And on.

And all he could think about was Jenny; her smooth, tanned skin, her long slender legs, and her fucking fantastic ass…

“Do you concur, Dimitri?”

The sound of his brother’s name drew his attention back to the boardroom.

“Sorry?” He glanced around the mahogany table, nine other sets of dark eyes stared back at him.

“Do you concur with Nicolas’ timeline?” An older blond guy asked the question.

Marius thought he should probably know his name, but frankly, he hadn’t been paying attention.

He drew in a deep breath. “Remind me.”

The Mediterranean-looking bloke opposite him flashed him a smile. “Eight to ten weeks,” he said softly. “If we’re on track.”

Eight to ten weeks? Marius’ mind whirred with all of the things he could do with Jenny in that time…

“Sounds good.” He nodded.

“Might I suggest we call a halt for today then, gentlemen?” It was the olive-skinned guy speaking again, and there were mumbles of agreement from around the room. “Let’s meet soon with the final plans.”

The room cleared slowly, leaving Marius alone with the speaker. Marius reached for his phone about to message Cal for a ride back home when he was interrupted.

“Everything all right, Dimitri?”

Marius’ gaze flew over the identity badge on the other man’s jacket, clocking his name just in time. “Yeah, it’s fine, Nicolas.”

“You’re sure?” Nicolas hesitated, as though he was trying to think of the right words to continue. “You seem…distracted?”

He was distracted. “I’m sorry. I have a new woman in my life, and she’s taking up a lot of my time. It’s not an excuse, but…”

Nicolas smiled. “Is this the lovely Miss Nelson?”

Marius’ stomach clenched at the way Nicolas said her name. He didn’t want to hear Jenny’s name spilling from anyone else’s lips. Ever.

“That’s right.”

“I’m pleased for you,” Nicolas enthused. “You deserve a private life, my friend.”

Marius lifted his chin. So, Nicolas was Dimitri’s friend?

“Thanks,” he replied. “I really like her.”

“So why not let me take the lead on this project?”

Marius blinked at him.

“I know we talked about it already, and you were never keen to delegate, but at least think about it. I know the project inside out, and anyway, you’ll still be here to oversee things.”

Marius’ heart leaped at Nicolas’ words. Delegation sounded fine to him. He wanted no part of the tedious project that he didn’t really understand. “Yes, you should take the lead. You’re more than ready to manage this.”

Nicolas’ jaw almost fell open. “Really?” He blinked at Marius. “I mean, I’d love to, but it’s just a one-eighty from where you were a week ago?”

Marius chuckled. He was a completely different man to the man Nicolas had met a week ago. “I’ve had a change of heart since then.”

Nicolas thrust his hand out toward Marius. “I’m so pleased to hear it,” he said warmly.

“Good.” He pulled out his phone and glanced at the time.
