COMPLEXITIES

Of what is said

and what is not.

Of what you are

and what you say,

the part I see,

the part I don’t.

Of what you’re not

and cannot be.

I read imperfectly

your face.

I hear imperfectly

your words.

We cannot quit

complexities.

You are not you,

but who am I

to question who

you are or not?

I cannot claim

to know or guess

who you may be.

I am not me.

MAKE BELIEVE

You do it

when no one’s around

and, without stirring,

you bound over light years,

and if anyone notices

and thinks you crazy,

so much the better.
