This map, published in 1846, is similar to the Topographical Bureau presentation of 1844, but there is more relief shown on this map. Mexico runs from about 24º latitude north and encompasses Baja California and its claims west of Texas, including California and New Mexico Territory. Louisiana and the Sabine River are east, and U.S. territory is shown north.

This 1846 map depicts American troop movement and battles during the Mexican-American War. It is a copy of a map taken from the portfolio of General Arista after the battle of May 9, 1846, at Resaca de la Palma.
