Millionaires’ Shortbread

One of my favourites. I always get asked for this recipe whenever I make this. If you are not sure what to make first out of this book- this is it!

400g plain flour

50g corn flour

100g caster sugar

200g hard butter

To make the caramel

Large tin condensed milk 397g

100g caster sugar

200g butter

400g good quality milk chocolate

4 dessert spoons golden syrup

To make the shortbread, cut the butter into small cubes and blitz all the ingredients in a food processor until it forms a light dough. Place into baking trays and press gently down until the surface is flat.

Bake in oven for approximately 20 minutes, 180C/350F/gas mark 4. Leave to cool.
