Sweet Apple Chips

LOW CARB | LOW POTASSIUM | VEGETARIAN

Serves 4 | Prep time: 15 minutes | Cook time: 2 hours

Fruit and vegetable chips are so easy to make in your own oven—you might not ever purchase them again. Anytime you want a satisfying crunchy snack, these sweet treats are just the ticket. If you prefer savory treats over sweet ones, skip the sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle these apple chips with a little cumin, coriander, or even chili powder.

3 firm apples, cored and very thinly sliced

1 teaspoon sugar

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

1.Preheat the oven to 200°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2.In a large bowl, toss the apples carefully with the sugar and cinnamon.

3.Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on the lined baking sheet.

4.Bake until the apple slices are dried but not crisp, turning once, about 2 hours in total.

5.Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the apple slices cool completely.

6.Store the apple chips in a sealed container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
