Chapter Four

Pleasure was the only thing on Leela’s mind as the next two weeks unfolded. She fell into a routine with Sam after work. He’d fix dinner and she would come over with a different bottle of wine to compliment his meals. The two of them always had something to laugh about as they ate and talked.

She looked forward to seeing him at the end of the work day when they either took long walks by the beach or settled in to watch the home and gardening channel, which Sam admitted was also one of his favorites. It was like the two of them had been dating for months, not weeks.

She smiled as she studied her reflection in the bathroom mirror. Sam would love her outfit tonight. She was wearing a black ruffled skirt and a shimmering yellow top decorated with a huge black flower spanning the length of her waist. The soft lemon hue complimented her brown skin and dipped down under her neck to offer a tantalizing view of cleavage. Her hair framed her face in spiral curls, and she was satisfied with her subtle-sexy casual attire. She couldn’t wait for Sam to see her. He wouldn’t be able to keep his hands off her, or so she hoped.

She frowned as she spritzed on perfume. Sam didn’t seem to be suffering from the same sexually voracious need that was consuming her. He hadn’t so much as French kissed her since the last time they had been intimate. For two weeks, he’d only given her light kisses on her forehead when he said good night and returned to his own place.

After turning off the light, she slipped into black heeled sandals and put on sparkly yellow bangles. If he was trying to prove to her that they had more in common than good chemistry and hot sex, she was convinced. They had many similar interests, and she enjoyed being with him sex or no sex, but her body craved his touch. She didn’t know if she could stand another evening in his presence when everything about him from the curve of his ass in his jeans to the smell of his cologne tempted her senses. Her body literally hungered for him.

Upon hearing his familiar staccato knock, she raced into the living room and opened the door.

“Hey, sexy,” Sam said with a lazy grin.

“Hi.” Damn, who was he calling sexy?

Tonight, he was dressed in a pair of dark jeans and a white collared shirt open to show springy chest hair she wanted to feel against her nipples again as he took her. Calm down, girl. “I thought I was coming over to your place.”

“It’s Friday night and we’re going out. You do like going out, don’t you?” he asked as she locked her door.

“Of course, but I didn’t really dress for going out.” She took his offered hand, feeling the zing of awareness she always did when he was anywhere near her. Truth was, she hadn’t missed going out because just being around him was entertaining enough.
