In summary, it can be argued that this brief analysis contributes to the illustration, from a lexical perspective, of the creative potential of a regional variety such as Nigerian English. Along the same lines, Adegbija (2004) states that the speakers of NE, in response to specific sociolinguistic stimuli, are carrying out a process of domestication of the English language, creating new lexemes which are not generally present in other varieties. Furthermore, these new lexical creations can then, in turn, spread to other varieties (neighboring or otherwise), becoming part of a repertoire which is constantly being enlarged and enriched.
