Many Tools to Choose From

Once you’ve committed to gauging employee engagement levels, the next step involves selecting an assessment tool. Over the past five years, a host of new engagement assessments have hit the marketplace. My preferred tool is the Gallup Q12, a 12-item employee engagement tool. While not new to the marketplace, the Q12 benefits from its access to Gallup’s vast database of over 25-million employees from around the world. Using this tool allows your organization to tap into these benchmarking resources as well.

With that said, I encourage every organization to do their own due diligence and find the best tool for their unique environment: whether that means a need for weekly feedback, customized questions, or qualitative responses. Finding the right tool to measure engagement is your first step in the right direction.
