He that cometh

from heaven

is above all

The arrival of the Firstborn

Ilya and the old tree could not understand what was happening. They stared at the caterpillar who had appeared, wondering what caterpillar was bold enough to come up here. Ilya did not recognize this caterpillar – he had never seen him before.

Ilya spoke to the caterpillar who was slowly approaching them and said, “Hello.” His eyes were wide with surprise as he continued, “I am Ilya from the branch of Apiru. I have never seen you before. Which branch are you from?”

The new arrival said calmly, “My name is Immanu, and I am not from this tree.” Ilya was speechless at this answer. No caterpillar has ever had so many surprises in such a short a time as he.

All he could do was to say politely to his new acquaintance, “Well then, where are you from?”

The new arrival answered, “I will tell you, don’t worry.”

This answer only made Ilya more curious. His eyes got bigger. This new arrival was so calm that Ilya had no idea exactly what to think or how to act. He sat there looking in wonderment at this caterpillar’s face.

Several ideas and questions were whirling through his brain, but he was unable to express any of them. Then he remembered that he was able to talk with the tree through the hollow. He said, “Look, there is a hollow in this tree right over here. You won’t believe it, but the tree can talk with me through that hollow.

This tree is alive and can speak. Can you believe that?” All at once he explained everything and brought the other caterpillar to the mouth of the hollow. Then the tree spoke slowly and softly to the caterpillars from the tree hollow: “Don’t be afraid. I am Lifetree."

What Ilya says is true.” The caterpillar who had just arrived showed no sign of being amazed. He was just standing there listening to them. Ilya and the tree did not fail to notice his unflappable attitude.

Ilya began to won der if there was something wrong, but the new arrival simply said, “I know. I know everything.” He was so sure of himself, and his voice oozed self-confidence.

Ilya asked him, “You do ? Who are you? How do you know these things? If you knew, why didn’t you tell us?” His voice trembled with anger. The new arrival immediately began to explain, “I am the Firstborn. I have just come from the land of Skycloud. Don’t worry, I will explain everything.”
