Cranberry, Apricot, and Sour Cherry Purée

My oldest son and I love tart flavors. I think it’s hereditary, and I find it so interesting that my other children have different sweet preferences. This particular purée is great as a pie pop filling, but it also makes a fantastic yogurt. Mix this with plain yogurt and you will have an amazingly creamy, sweet, and tart breakfast!

1 cup (100 g) fresh cranberries

3 apricots, chopped

1 cup (155 g) fresh or frozen sour cherries, pitted and chopped

1. Steam cranberries, apricots, and sour cherries together for 5 to 7 minutes, until they are soft.

2. Reserve the water from the steamer.

3. Blend the mixture in a blender until puréed. Add 1 teaspoon of reserved water at a time, if necessary, until desired consistency is achieved.
