52.After removing the bulb together with the internal jugular vein (course highlighted by the dotted line), the tumor in the infratemporal fossa is visible. The internal carotid artery (ICA) has been partially dissected free and has a tortuous course over the residual tumor.

53.Tumor was dissected off the posterior fossa dura.

54.After removing all the rest of the visible tumor, the internal carotid artery (ICA) and external carotid artery (ECA) were clearly visible. The blue fishhook retractor was elevating up the mandible. To close, a fat graft was placed into the defect to help protect the vessels and provide some bulk for reconstruction.
