Once it has all been added, increase the speed of your mixer to medium & continue mixing for 7 more minutes.

Add the butter next, 1/2 of a stick at a time, while mixing at the same speed. After the butter has been added, continue to mix for about 3 more minutes until the cream has thickened.

Mix in the salt & whiskey last.

Take a plate & set the first layer of cake on top. Spread a thick layer of frosting on top of the first layer.

Gently set the second layer on top & cover the top of that with another thick layer of frosting.
