Ingredients

1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast

2 cups warm water (110° to 115°)

1 teaspoon sugar

2 teaspoons salt

5 1/2 cups 5-1/2 all-purpose flour

Directions

Dissolve the yeast in warm water in a large bowl. Add 3 cups of sugar, salt and flour. Run for 3 minutes at medium speed. Stir the remaining flour to make a soft dough.

Turn on the flour surface. Knead for about 6-8 minutes until soft and elastic. Put in a greased bowl and turn once to grease the top. Cover and wake up in a warm place until it doubles for about an hour.

Lower the dough. Turn on the flour surface. Divide in half. Each part is lumped. Place each rope seam down on a greased baking sheet. Cover and awake for about half an hour.

In the meantime, preheat the oven to 400 °. Make 4 shallow slashes on top of each loaf with a sharp knife. Bake until 20-25 minutes or golden brown. Remove from pan to wire rack to cool.
