The project management road map provides an overview on how a typical project should be managed and illustrates the flow and the key issues from concept to close out. The road map for projects includes the following important information relevant to the conduct and management of projects:

the project and contract management principles defining the essential minimum management controls and processes which must be formally addressed for all projects and contracts;

performance standards applicable to feed and implementation project phases;

definition of project phases some or all of which will be undertaken for each project;

major project milestones some or all of which will be relevant dependent on which project phases are undertaken;

milestone requirements for corporate reviews during each of the project phases.
