THIRD REGRESSION SESSION, DECEMBER 1972

Jane

We had already received considerable information about the Dutch lifetime, but we knew nothing of the karmic ties that might have resulted from the previous incarnation. I decided, instead of regressing Jane again, to take her up into the higher self, or superconscious, all-knowing mental realms of her own mind. This technique is not always successful, but Jane was an exceptionally good subject and was easily carried to this state of expanded mental awareness. The session was long and complicated, and the transcripts could confuse the case, so it is easier to explain the knowledge that was derived from it:

Jane was Hans in the Dutch life and was raised Catholic.

Don was Gretchen in the Dutch life and was Jewish.

They had wanted to marry, but Hans’s mother was extremely forceful in preventing it. Hans, frustrated over the trauma of the situation and feeling it was hopeless, went to sea. Jane’s mother in her present life was Hans’s mother in the Dutch incarnation.

After Hans was gone, Gretchen gave birth to his son. She awaited her lover’s return and was happy with her son. Years later she received word that Hans had been killed, and from that time on she saw the child as a constant reminder of a love she could never have and grew to dislike the child. Gretchen had been an attractive woman with a beautiful body but she let herself go, becoming fat and unkempt. Three years later she also died.

Jane’s present son had been Gretchen’s son in the previous life.

Once this karmic information had been received, we spent the rest of the session experimenting. Jane became extremely psychic while in the higher self and was able to tell me many things about myself and my past that she or Don had absolutely no way of consciously knowing. She also predicted several forthcoming events in my own life, all of which happened exactly as predicted in the weeks that followed. At the time, her son was just beginning to undergo medical tests for a physical problem, and I asked her if she could diagnose his illness. She responded with an extensive description of the problem and causes, which can be summarized as an imbalance in a particular glandular system. In the days that followed, Don gave this information to the doctor at the A.R.E. Clinic in Phoenix (the Association of Research and Enlightenment—the Edgar Cayce Society). His medical reaction was “possible but highly unlikely; it would be one of the last things we’d check.” Yet a few days later the tests confirmed the accuracy of Jane’s diagnosis from the higher-self hypnotic trance.

When Jane and Don had first met, they were immediately attracted to each other, despite the fact that neither had ever been attracted to the other’s type before. Don is tall and blond, and he had usually liked tall, thin women. Jane is short and slightly overweight and had always been turned off by large blond men.

As strongly as Don was attracted to Jane, he was equally repulsed by her son, William.
