Thursday, we hope it’s a big day.

I had spoken to Maria (Suzie’s netballing mate) late last week, once we knew the girls had made their hotel reservation (Claudia’s turn, this time), and she had quickly agreed to fly down to Sydney for the day. I even had to ask her “size” so we could get her a maids uniform that would fit, so that was an interesting conversation to start with!

She is due to arrive in Sydney around 8:15 a.m., so we are hoping she will arrive at the Shangri-La by 9:00 as she won’t have luggage. We will meet her in the coffee lounge in the foyer first and then go up to “their” room so we can run through our plan in detail with her—and hope she doesn’t pike out on us!

I get into town early and join Pig for breakfast whilst we wait for Maria.

I see her getting out of the Uber, so I get up and go out and meet her, so she doesn’t feel lost and stand out in the Foyer. I am hoping she has her tats covered; otherwise, she will be noticed!

Fortunately, she does have on a long-sleeved blouse and is rather smartly dressed—looks the goods, in fact—a tall and stylish lady, but one look at her face tells you “don’t mess with me!”

As Pig has gone back up to the room, I grab Maria a coffee and we too take the elevator up to level 15.

When we get to the room, I introduce Pig and Maria, and she reacts with “Ooh, aren’t you the looker—I thought this one here, (pointing a thumb at me), was a bit tidy, but if I wasn’t happy with my George, I reckon I could get you to swap teams!”

Pig doesn’t know what to say whilst I am having a good laugh—I doubt anyone has ever told Pig they could get him to swap teams!

We settle down so we can go through the plan, and we explain to Maria what we need, that the two “marks” as she has started calling them have a room booked for their romantic interlude, and her job is to knock and enter quickly, pushing her housekeeping cart, which Pig had snaffled through the night, and it was sitting there in the room. We would have her wired with a chest mounted camera and mic, with a second camera on the front of the cart for a different angle.

As we will already have sound, yes, Claudia does have her favourite handbag with her, we checked the camera when she left her house this morning, as she has gone into the office first, unlike their last rendezvous when she came straight to the hotel.

He had also logged into the hotel system and changed Claudia’s room to 1511, so just down the hall from his room, and further away from the lifts.

Maria has a few questions, then goes into the bathroom to change into the maids uniform, coming out giggling as it is too tight in the bust and way too loose around the hips.
