FEELINGS ARE LIKE BREEZES
When you ask yourself how you feel, remind yourself not to answer, “I’m sad,” or “I’m happy.” You feel sad. You aren’t sadness. The same is true of happiness. Our feelings are like breezes. One passes through us, and then a new breeze passes. This process of feelings coming and going and coming again is constant and predictable, even if we can’t predict exactly what those feelings are going to be.
Just like total peace or unwavering self-love, it isn’t realistic to expect pure happiness to be a static state that we achieve 24/7. Nobody manages that in life. But we do have the capacity to allow more happy moments in our lives. When we string them together, we can experience a life filled with happiness.
