Description
Start in equal standing (chapter 6), but with feet hip-distance apart and facing a wall.
Place the palms on the wall at hip height, fingers spread and pointed upward.
Walk away from the wall, hinge from the hips, and lower the upper body until it is parallel to the floor. Keep the hips over the knees and the knees over the ankles.
Straighten the arms and keep the ears in line with the upper arms.
Engage the abdominals to support the lower back.
Firmly press the hands into the wall and extend the hips away from the wall to lengthen the spine and sides of the torso.
Keep the legs straight, quadriceps contracted, and feet firmly grounded.
