Side Lying Quadricep Stretch
This is a simple way to open the front of the thighs while resting.
GETTING INTO THE POSE
1. Place a blanket at the end of your mat in Side Lying Pillow Fold (p. 7).
2. Lie on the sticky mat on your left side, with your left ear on the blanket.
3. Bend your right knee and take hold of your ankle with your right hand.
ENGAGING ACTIONS
1. Draw the tailbone in and the sitting bones down toward the backs of the knees.
2. Roll the right upper arm out and take the shoulder blades into the back to open and broaden the chest.
3. Exhale; press your right ankle into your right hand.
4. Inhale; move the sternum bone away from your navel.
5. Soften your eyes, relax your face, and let the breath flow freely.
DETAILS TO BE MINDFUL OF
Keep the thighs parallel to each other.
