down to the Champ in an excellent match. As per Triple H’s cryptic comments weeks earlier, this feud was officially over.

The next night, Dave was drafted to Smackdown in the 2005 edition of the Draft Lottery. He brought his World Title with him while Trips stayed on Raw. Finally something had come between Helmsley and his shiny belt. Triple’s obsession with it would have to wait. He was no longer on the roster that challenged for it. He wasn’t on Smackdown.

That was that. Dave Batista broke the curse. He ended the tyranny.

He stopped the insanity . . . at least as it relates to Triple H and the World Title. If this were a movie, we would get a still photo of Batista and some sappy music while the credits rolled. All was over.
