It must be nice to be a Hero, huh? I’ve been looking through the police reports, guys, and did you know there’s not a single instance of a report being filed against a Hero for anything in the past ten years? Not murder, not thievery, not sexual assault. These people don’t even get parking tickets. Apparently becoming a Hero in Panopolis catapults you into the realm of interpersonal perfection, and you never do anything dumb, mean, or ill considered ever again, even if you have a history of poor decision making. It looks like Heroism is next to godliness on the scale of moral authority. Must be nice.

Or—and I’m just throwing this out there—maybe there are no complaints filed not because there are no people with something to complain about, or no wrongs they’re seeking to right, but because we have a system that gives Heroes complete immunity from the basest levels of prosecution and responsibility for their actions as long as they toe the party line. Maybe it’s not that our Heroes are perfect, maybe it’s that our legal system is broken in the same way they are.
