I JUST DIED IN YOUR ARMS TONIGHT

It was just as hard not to break into a run as they dashed from the hotel car park. Passing through the lobby they were intercepted by a receptionist, which led to an excruciating exchange of hotel chitchat … How was their stay? Was everything all right with the room? Did they need a dinner reservation for this evening? Then the lift took forever to arrive and deliver them to their floor, but at last they were able to close the door on the world. And time stood still, the grains of sand passing through the hourglass in Ella’s mind froze again mid-flow.

The urgency she’d felt initially eased a little when they kissed again, slowly and deeply now, each savouring the other for the first time in their adult lives. Ella was on the tips of her toes to meet Ross’s mouth. Tongues exploring, hands running over bodies, she experienced desire so profound it made her light-headed.

Ross was kissing her face, her neck, the urgency returning as they undressed each other. With their clothes abandoned where they fell, they were seeing the other’s naked body for the first time. Ella pushed Ross gently back onto the bed. His desire was plain to see, and he reached up, pulling her over him. His mouth found her hardened nipple, sucking it, his hand softly kneading her breast.

Their eyes barely left the other’s face for an instant. Ella again felt dizzy with the sensation of it all. Instinctively, she suspected they both knew that they didn’t want to, couldn’t, wait any longer. Ella eased herself onto Ross, giving a low moan of pleasure.

Ross gasped at the feel of her, hot, moist, and welcoming. He grasped her waist and drew her deeper onto him. In no time they found their rhythm, coming together with a climax so intense it was almost painful. Ella rested her head on Ross’s chest, still sitting astride him, his arms wrapped tightly round her. Hearts racing, breathless, their bodies still trembling, they allowed the intensity of it all to wash over them, waves dissipating as they broke on the shore.

When she woke it was dusk and the room was quiet. They’d fallen asleep holding each other close. Ross was still sleeping quietly, his soft breath bathing the back of her neck as they lay together. We’re spooning, she smiled to herself, loving that their bodies moulded together so comfortably.
