WHAT DOES HEALTHY BEHAVIOR LOOK LIKE?

1. The healthy employee is responsible for his/her job duties and does not take on another employee’s responsibilities.

2. The healthy employee gives honest feedback and input into staff meetings, discussions, procedures, etc.

3. The healthy employee is able to clearly state what is and is not possible for him/her to complete in order to make a deadline.

4. The healthy employee speaks up clearly and firmly when faced with a personal injustice.

5. The healthy employee is supportive of co-worker accomplishments.

6. The healthy employee works to the best of his/her ability and deals with mistakes appropriately.

7. The healthy employee asks for increased responsibilities and duties when he/she feels ready to fulfill those responsibilities.

Healthy behavior occurs when employees recognize what is possible and make changes within the work environment that will promote a healthier environment. They also recognize what is not possible and make the best decision according to the situation.

Healthy behavior is reflected by employees who express their true identity and come into their full professional potential. These employees value the talents of their co-workers and practice collaboration instead of control.
