The passageways were already bustling with activity as crewmembers hurried to their posts. I made my way to the Captain's Mount; Ensign Blair Paxton was just taking her post at Engineering; Akari, at Tactical, was monitoring our stealth systems.

"Status report," I ordered, settling into my seat.

"Captain," Akari replied crisply, "we're maintaining our cloaked status, but Krygian sensor sweeps are becoming more frequent. If they detect us—"

"They won't," I said, cutting her off. " Ensign Paxton, ensure our drive emissions are negligible."

"Yes, Captain. Chief Rivers in E&P assures me we're invisible in that regard.”

"NELLA bring us to full battle stations… just do it quietly," I ordered.

Affirmative, Captain.

In front of the Captain's Mount, Strickland appeared on the halo display, a split-feed with Derrota standing within the Quansporter compartment. The Commander looked harried, his expression grim. "The ground team is readying to deploy here in the Armory. The Symbios are being brought into formation."

It seemed strange to me that only now, Strickland had done that. Doesn't one typically learn to swim before jumping into shark-infested waters?

"Good," I said. "Stephan, what’s your, um, situational status?"

"I'm monitoring the Krygians' shield variances… and energy signatures. They've definitely fortified their positions since our last intel update."

"Will those shield variances affect how your Quansporters—"

"No, we should be fine in that regard."

I spun around to face Ship's Systems. "Lieutenant Gray, status on Ike's operational status."

"All systems are go, Sir."

Ensign Paxton nodded. "And E&P's still fully operational, Captain."

I spun back around, "Mr, Chen… Mr. Grimes…"

They both gave me a thumbs up, Comms and Helm were ready for whatever was coming next.

"Tactical," I said.

Akari, who looked the most uncertain among the crew, would handle the bridge's most intricate control board, one that required top-tier interfacing skills. "I got this," she said.

I reluctantly glanced upward. "NELLA. What is your battle readiness?"

All weapons systems are fully operational and primed for engagement. Shield strength is at maximum capacity, ensuring optimal defense against incoming fire. Combat protocols have been initiated, and all critical systems are functioning within expected parameters.

Regarding quansporting and NEOGENE integration… Quansporter pedestals are calibrated for deployment—NEOGENE tech modifications are active and stable. I will oversee the precise synchronization of personnel transport and genetic alterations to ensure peak combat performance. I am ready to execute any battle commands required of me.

I turned back to Strickland. "Seems you and your team are up to bat. USS Ike, her crew, and I are here to support you and your Ops team.”

He nodded sharply.

Behind him, I saw Sergeant Max and his Marines checking weapons, getting their gear. The halo feed blinked out.

Looking at Chen, I gestured to the overhead.

"You're live, Cap."

All hands, this is the Captain speaking. As you know, we have entered Krygian space. We are moving into position for immediate deployment with our impending ground operations. This is what you've trained for, people. You've got this. Now let's show these freaks of nature, Earth can never be on their hit list. Stay focused, stick to your training, and remember what's at stake. We're not just fighting for ourselves but for everyone back home.
