Yeah, I suppose the “Rats” was a good name for these guys after all. A very good one.

Later on I was lucky enough to see a battle between an Electromage and an Earth Mage in the final of the lot battles. Honestly, I was sitting there open-mouthed, temporarily having forgotten about everything, even the Bone Sword and the Goddess’ quest.

The level-107 Electromage looked like a link somewhere along the chain that connected an ordinary person to the Master of Lightning. So his skin wasn’t exactly blue, but it was definitely bluish and sparkled a bit in the sun. Judging by his equipment, he preferred leather armor, and he relied on Intelligence, just like all mages. The Earth Mage actually looked pretty much the same before he cast his armor; this covered his body in a clay shell that made him look like some kind of golem. Immediately, the Electromage hurled a spear composed of some kind of lightning at him, about the size of a small streetlight pole. Shards of clay were blasted off the Earth Mage in all directions, but this is where the effect of the spell stopped; it didn’t deal any damage at all. In response, a few gigantic fists made of earth flew toward the Electromage, but stopped in midair a few meters away from him. Then they actually started to whirl in orbit around the Electromage, forming an additional layer of defense.
