The house was crowded and full of people as they came to give their condolences to me and my family on the passing on Mrs. Flores. The shit felt like I lost a mother and I was hurt. Losing Mrs. Flores had us all fucked up, especially Giselle and even though Mrs. Flores wasnât on Tamia good side Tamia cried her heart out at the funeral. Abagail, on the other hand, I couldnât read. Like now she has me by her side walking around greeting people and putting on a show like we one big happy ass couple. If I didnât hate her more than I did now; she was treating her mamaâs death like it was a fucking circus. I removed her hand from around my arms and left her to talk to a few of her family members. I hated to be rude at a time like this, but I wanted all these people out my house.
âYou good, man, you look like you need a stiff drink?â Gates walked over to me.
âYeah, man, just ready for this day to get over with. I didnât know Mrs. Flores had this much family, where were all these motherfuckers when her ass was bad and out?â
âNobody gives a damn when you alive, but when that dirt hit you everybody got a feel-good story to tell. Ainât nobody real out here no more. I just got a call, and everyone is there waiting on us.â
I loosened my tie and went upstairs to change. I had new shipments of cocaine coming in each week now, and the demand was high, but I was apprehensive on who I let into my circle. Money ruled the world, but all money wasnât good money and I turned a bunch of niggas away. I wasnât the only supplier in Miami, but my shit was the only product that came from across the water. I didnât have the patience for these rookie ass niggas who didnât have the proper knowledge, or solid niggas behind them. I hated feeling like I had to babysit niggas just to make sure I got my money and that alone didnât make me front niggas shit. You either had the cash, or you go could go fuck with another nigga who wanted chump change. I called for a meeting to all my buyers, because business was about to change, and I didnât want anyone to think like I was bad business.
âAre you about to leave right now?â Abagail came into the room. She stood by the door with a sad look on her face.
âYeah, I got a few meetings today. Why, whatâs up?â
âNothing I just thought you would spend the day with me. I just buried my mother and I donât feel like being alone.â She walked into my room and sat on my bed.
âYouâve been on the go these last few days and you look tired. Why donât you go out with one of your friends or get you some rest?â I suggested.
