God ’s instructions guide us

Today is going to be a good day because God has already given us our instruction guide for facing whatever comes our way: to be joyful, patient, and in fervent prayer. From a human perspective, it can seem difficult, if not impossible, to remain joyful in hope when we don’t see anything in our circumstances changing, to be patient when we are hurting and longing for a trial to end, or to continue to pray faithfully when it doesn’t seem that God is listening or answering. But doing as he commands sets the stage for him to do what we cannot, and that is a great reward to look forward to.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. (Rom. 12:12 NIV)
