David had a personal relationship with God. The LORD was David’s:

Rock,

Fortress,

Strength (vs. 3-4).

Because David intimately knew the God of Truth and took refuge in Him, he boldly asked God to do things for him. Some of David’s requests were:

“Let me never be ashamed” (v.1).

“In Your righteousness deliver me” (v. 1).

“Incline Your ear to me” (v. 2).

“Rescue me quickly” (v.2).

“Be to me a rock of strength” (v.2).

“Be a stronghold to save me” (v.2).

“Be gracious to me” (v.9).

Have you committed your spirit to the God of Truth and let Him ransom you (v. 5)? If you have, reread Psalm 31 aloud, praying it with confidence to your Rock, your Fortress, and your Strength.

Pray Psalm 31:14-16 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
