The Power of Daily Quotas
What is the most productive way to get things done?

A crow, half–dead with thirst, came upon a pitcher which had once been full of water; but when the crow put his beak into the mouth of the pitcher he found only very little water was left in it, and that he could not reach far enough down to get at it. He tried and he tried, but at last had to give up in despair.
Then a thought came to him, and he took a pebble and dropped it into the pitcher. Then another pebble, and another pebble and another pebble. The problem with motivation, a buzzword these days, is that you cannot depend on it. Some days, you feel like conquering the world, work for hours and be productive. But I will bet that usually you do not feel motivated at all. In these moments, we tend to focus on problems (and not in the solutions) and we cannot get any work done. That is how motivation works, it is fleeting, as no one is permanently motivated to work at full throttle.
Instead, we should focus on both habits and willpower to get things done. Aristotle once said:
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an action but a habit.
The Daily Quota method relies on using willpower to create habits that get the job done.
I came up with this method, but the underlying principles are by no means unique. In my search for simplicity and effectiveness, I joined together several ideas, curating what I believe to be the best productivity framework for students, since:
