A Hint for Rapidly Changing Controls

When we are shooting an assignment, we do not like using the menu commands. It simply takes too much time to scroll through all the commands before you find the one you need to change. To speed up the process, we use a combination of the LCD screen and the Fn button. We make sure the LCD Display(DISP) has [For viewfinder] checked. Then we cycle through the displays on the rear LCD until we see the [For viewfinder] data display format on the LCD screen. The format does not show a live view of the subject. Instead the format displays all of the camera settings. What is neat is when you press the Fn button, the screen allows you to use the control wheel to move through the settings and press soft key C to alter the command’s value. This is extremely efficient and allows you to change the most frequently used commands for your camera quickly. Note that the [For viewfinder] data display format is only available on the LCD screen. If you are viewing the scene with the EVF, you can still select commands by pressing the Fn button, but you will be using the six commands that are dedicated to that button.
