The womb of karma (Karmasala), sheathed by the Kleshas (veils), gives birth to experiences now and in the future.

As long as the veils encase the womb of karma (Karmasala), all actions will be affected.

Karma bears fruits according to the type and quality of the seed planted, and the care given to its growth.

TRANSFORMING KARMA THROUGH KARMA YOGA

If action is inevitable, how can we circumvent the need for reaction and prevent more karma from accruing? Can we slow down the ever-spinning wheel? The secret is Karma Yoga or Seva (Selfless Service).

Karma Yoga tempers the law of karma (action and its subsequent reaction) by redirecting the effects of our actions through selfless service. If we must reap what we sow, let us sow seeds of a sweet and tasty fruit.

There are as many ways to serve as people to be served. Karma Yoga is about doing our best, not expecting praise or blame. To do the deed for the sake of doing, not looking for the reward, is at the heart of Karma Yoga. We may feel gratified in seeing others happy, but let this be a side effect, not the main goal.
