THEY COULD DEAL with that problem when they came to it. For now, they needed to source their bait. Smith had already done a good job of signalling his return to the scene, but alien technology wasn’t the easiest to come by. The Frontier was the only place Samson knew of to obtain it, and that brought with it a very particular set of problems. Not only were there hostile aliens lurking about the place, but there was one of the biggest concentrations of naval strength the Terran Union had ever seen in that sector of the Frontier.

Samson worded his message to Molinari as succinctly as he could, updating him on their progress, or lack thereof, the fact that they had a new avenue to pursue without saying what it was, and then asking for something that would ease their movement around police and warships. Sending it was the last thing that Samson did before Smith fired the Nexus agitator, and they entered the Nexus Current on their way back out to the Frontier. Hopefully by the time they arrived, they wouldn’t feature on the most wanted list for firing on a naval vessel.
