The book of Acts sets the stage for the church to grow and the salvation message to be taken to the whole world. First through the gift of the Holy Spirit and finally with the call to spread the message to the Gentiles, not just the Jews. In the last fifty years we have seen this happening in rapid fashion compared to the first 1950 years of the church. We will see why this happened in later prophecies in the New Testament.
CHAPTER 9
End Time Prophesies in Romans
Contextualization and situation ethics are really nothing new, as people have been adjusting the Bible to fit their needs and wants throughout history, but our look into Romans opens with a passage that has been highly debated in recent years. A passage where situation ethics has come into play which has led to a debate that I believe is a sign we are living in the End Times.
Changing the Bible
Romans 1:18-32 has come under fire from the LGBTQ+ movement in the past decade. As the LGBTQ+ movement has grown, supporters of that community have tried to discredit the fact that the words in this scripture passage were even written by Paul. After two thousand years of history accepting these words as they are written, suddenly we are asked to believe everyone has been wrong up to this point, and our new knowledge or revelation is superior to all the previous generations.
We should not be surprised at this as it has happened many times throughout history. Joseph Smith said he received the Book of Mormon with special revelation and insight from God. Because of that revelation, he said was able to show us how the Bible was wrong in places. The Jehovah Witnesses had their own version of the Bible written to correct the âmistakesâ that they believed were missed for centuries. But it clearly states in Proverbs 30:6 that we are not to add to or take away from the Word of God, so any changes to scripture are in direct conflict with what is laid out in the Bible.
Instead of throwing this passage from Romans out, what if we read them as Bible prophecy? We know that Paul had an encounter with Christ. What if in that encounter Paul was given insight into the future, and in this passage, he is simply stating these things that will happen before the return of Christ? Letâs look at a few of these verses from chapter one and consider if these things are taking place:
18 âFor the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of those who by their wickedness suppress the truth.19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So they are without excuse; 21 for though they knew God,
