Two days later Frederick was sitting down to dinner with his mother and sisters when Eulaly said, “A note came for you, Frederick. A boy from the castle brought it.”

Frederick looked at her expectantly. “Where is it?”

“Over there.” She swept her hand in an indeterminate manner.

Frederick jumped up.

“It’s here.” Mother handed him the small rolled-up piece of paper tied with a string.

Frederick opened it quickly and read it to himself.

Frederick,

Please meet me at the Cathedral in the southwest corner of the nave tomorrow at noon. I need to talk to you.
