Meatballs in Sauce

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

Meatballs

1 lb. beef, ground (545g)

1 clove garlic. minced

1/2 cup mozzarella, shredded (42g)

1/4 cup Parmesan, grated (50g)

2 tbsp. parsley, fresh, chopped

1 large egg

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. pepper

2 tbsp. olive oil, extra virgin

Sauce

1 medium onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can crushed tomatoes

1 tsp. oregano, dried

Salt and pepper for taste

Directions:

Combine meat, garlic, mozzarella, Parmesan, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix well and form meat mixture into balls.

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place balls in the hot skillet and cook, turning frequently until meatballs are browned. Remove from skillet and let drain on a paper towel-lined platter.

In the skillet, add in onion and cook until translucent. Then, add garlic and cook until fragrant. Now, you can add in the tomatoes and oregano and season with salt and pepper.

Place meatballs back into the sauce and cook for another 15 minutes. Then, remove from heat and serve topped with Parmesan.
