PLATE 219 A damaged image of a Royal Fusilier soldier. The two chevrons on his right arm mean he has served two years overseas and the chevron on his left arm was awarded for good conduct. The thin white strip below means he has been wounded once. This suggests this image was taken in at least January 1918, which is when these chevrons were issued.
