Patrón is one of the great original entries into the U.S. superpremium 100 percent blue agave market. You know you’re in for a treat the minute you see the unique handblown reusable decanter-type bottle, complete with a cork-lined handblown glass stopper. On the other hand, there’s no free lunch, as they say, and though this is an outstanding tequila, Patrón is generally a little higher priced than others of comparable quality, almost certainly because of its superior packaging. If you have use for the decanter, Patrón is a particular bargain; if not, you will be paying for it anyway—you be the judge.
