In high-trust organizations, employees feel that they can influence events. If they feel strongly about something, they have people they can talk to. Processes are available enabling them to make their views known. Meritorious points of view tend to be heard and acted on. This degree of openness gives employees an authentic sense of empowerment and vastly increases the odds that they will decide to trust the organization. They have no illusions that their company is perfect, but they have confident reliance that if they are wronged or betrayed, they will have some recourse.
