One of the most raved-about models is the KSO (Keep Stuff Out) Trek. Different than the regular KSO, the Trek is composed of a breathable and light kangaroo leather upper (available in different materials). It is great on rocky and craggy terrain, as well as backwoods trails. The EVA sole is protective and a bit thicker than their other models at 4 mm. The materials are robust, the craftsmanship superb, the leather smooth and soft, and the shoe is light (less than 6 ounces). The only downside is the slightly supported arch that is partially held taut with the top Velcro strapping mechanism. If you need an extra sweat-wicking layer or secondary insulation in colder temps, consider purchasing a pair of Injinji (www.injinji.com), toe socks that fit Five Fingers well.
