There was a stunned silence. General Claassen woke up first. “Well, I’ll be dammed, we won a war without firing a shot. Post, it seems you are going to make a trip. What a development. I was about to give up.” General Post says,

“Not so fast, we have not won yet. Yes, you may be right, but that decision is the President’s. They have ask that we surrender; maybe we can negotiate. They need fuel, and we need them to turn that damned thing off before we freeze. Also they need their communications fixed. Marilyn. I see you have returned. You could not have gotten that TV show about saving animals done so quickly. What is the schedule of the TV show?”

“I hired a writer who is great getting peoples’ attention. I figured that this show required more exciting format, than I was capable of producing. He will have it done tomorrow, and I can review it in the afternoon. If it is ok, he will get it recorded with actors tomorrow night, and I can review it during the morning of the 19th. I expect to broadcast that same evening during prime time. We will show it several times a day on several channels to be sure it reaches everyone who needs it.”

“Thank you, Marilyn; did you hear the message from the space ship in The Cloud?”

“Yes, would you like for me to get the President?

“Yes, while we discuss continuing the Southern Hemisphere project.” Admiral Jason Perry,

“I think it is too early to abandon it because we don’t know what those bastards in The Cloud are going to do as yet.” General Claassen says,

“I agree, I think we should charge ahead until you have some agreement we can accept. That Cloud may not be as easy to foil as indicated by the message.” General Post says,

“So we continue the heating of the Southern Hemisphere as agreed. Raise your hand, if you agree. Admiral you are free to continue until further notice, and Marilyn the TV show shall also continue. Harold Wilson and Cherry Jennings, You should continue with the conversions which we discussed before the airplane idea was suggested. We may need both methods to keep our southern friends from freezing.” They answered in a chorus of yes. Harold and Cherry comment,

“We have discussed the subject and know what to do. We are planning on calling some venders for fans and heat exchangers tomorrow. We will need at least two cargo ships. This job will take at least two weeks to complete. We will discuss with the Admiral which ships he will allow us to convert. Also the Navy has several welders which they can supply. We are ready to go.” General Post says,

“I am not sure that will be soon enough; they might be well frozen by then, but continue I think General Claassen can supply the cargo ships. I see that Marilyn has returned with the President. Mr. President, we have heard from the object in The Cloud which has been identified as a space ship.
