Mrs. Fleur was having one of her bad days, and Terra was alone in the garden today. It felt like there was a weight on her heart.

The secret was out. A long time ago. Mr. and Mrs. Fleur would die. Just like their daughter. They had all ingested the poison, and in the end, it would claim each of their lives.

Terra pushed these hopeless feelings down. Instead, she decided to think about how lovely these flowers would be. Once she was done with her work here, she would take a cutting to Mrs. Fleur’s bedroom. Something to cheer her up while she recovered.

In these early stages of the disease, Mrs. Fleur had occasional episodes, but there was a great distance between them. Mr. Fleur, on the other hand, had seen his last light of day and was now in total and complete darkness. He would never regain his vision and soon the seizures would take him. But not today.

When Terra was finished, her neck was sore from bending over the bed, but she was full of pride, knowing the tulips would be beautiful.
