FILTER CHOICES

There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of camera filters you can purchase to use in the field. In terms of how they relate to exposures, I personally stick to just a few to assist me when in need:

Graduated or split neutral density

Polarizer

Neutral density

Warming.

Choosing the right filter for the job depends on many factors, including your familiarity with the different types available. Each is described below, but I recommend practicing and playing with every one to get to know their benefits as well as their potential disadvantages.
