STEADY-STATE AEROBIC DAY

Choose a trail or route or type of cardio equipment that’s different from your interval days. Start with a 5-minute slow warmup, then increase your effort level to a 6 or 7 on an exertion scale of 1 to 10, where 10 is a sprint. At 6 or 7, you should be able to speak in a few short sentences but it shouldn’t be too comfortable to talk for long. Progress as follows through the 6 weeks.

Week 1: Rest

Week 2: 30 minutes

Week 3: Rest

Week 4: 30 minutes

Week 5: Rest

Week 6: 30 minutes
