Late the next day, Finn was declared well enough to be released from the hospital. He still had had a limp, and he had to face a slew of reporters seeking his side of the story, all of whom went away disappointed since he insisted he could not remember what happened. Christian backed him up by refusing to discuss the case they were working on due to potential legal ramifications.

Finn settled into the same hotel as Christian, then they met in his room to go over their notes. But before they could do anything more than begin talking, word came back from Mikala.

“Ye got it to her fast enough,” said Stu.

“I had it hand-carried in my father’s jet,” said Christian.

“Your da’s jet?” Rob asked.

“Yes.”

“Bloody hell, and I thought you were posh,” Rob said to Finn. “So...results?”

“You are, in fact, half-brother to me and Finn. As is Stuart.”

“Half-brother?!?!” Stuart snapped in disbelief. “You. Me. All four of us? Bollocks!”

“Finn,” said Christian, “you know of our father better than any of us. Is this truly possible?”

“All I knew of him was letters he wrote Nan, when he was at King’s College. I’ve never met him.”

“Cambridge?” asked Stu, wary. “When was he there?”

“Why?”

“It’s where I come into the world. Me mum was at St. Catherine’s. Matriculated there and become a teacher. Moved us to the island, and there I grew up.”

“What about your Da?” asked Rob. “Weren’t he around?”

“Not much. He was RAF, at Lakenheath. Got a transfer but mum wanted to settle; he didn’t. So they divorced when I was but a year. I’d see him, now and again. Still keep contact.”

“D’ya look like him?”

Stu shook his head. “I favor mum. I've a call into her, but it's exams so no telling when she'll respond.”

“I look like my mother’s father,” Rob smirked. “And my folks’re still together. Got a sister, two brothers and...OH!” He flopped back on the bed to growl at the ceiling, “And they think me dead! So how do I find out what the fuck happened? HOW it happened? If that crap’s right.”

“It is,” said Christian. “I know my sister; she would not say this if she were not positive.”

“I’ve met her,” said Finn. “He’s right.”

Rob laughed and pulled him down beside him to wrap an arm around his neck. “I joked about this bein’ incest, and the truth is, I still don’t care.”

Finn grinned at him and patted his belly.

Christian looked away, tense, as Rob winked at Finn and said, “Little lower, next time.” Then they both sat up.

Stu watched them, not smiling, then said to Rob, “Yer quite the animal.”

Rob blew a kiss to him then shifted his gaze to Christian. “You on board with it?”
