Hoverboards

The standard Atlantean hoverboard is a long, flat board that is six feet (72 inches) tall, two inches thick, and twelve inches across. It appears to be lightweight, made of a matte, non-reflective material, usually charcoal grey in color. The top and bottom do not extend straight across into a cutoff like a rectangle but instead are curved smoothly, oval and tapered off, so there are no hard edges. When inert, it is usually held upright in one hand resting the lower end against the floor.

It resembles an Earth snowboard, skateboard, or surfboard.

For the sake of beginner Earth teens, the basic Pre-Qualification hoverboards are pre-programmed to obey simple spoken English commands:

“Ready!” – levitate six inches from the floor.

“Go!” – move forward at a slow pace.

“Descend!” – come down at a very gradual slope incline.

“Level!” – taper off descent and continue moving forward.

“Stop!” – freeze and levitate in place.

“Reverse!” – do a 180° turnaround.

“Rise!” – rise in the air at a gradual slope.

“Return!” – return to original starting position six inches above the floor.
