Late night…

Aunder’s castle…

Aunder’s bedroom…

Aunder thought of Terrance’s words. Vulnerable Monster Kingdoms, ripe for the taking . Then a brilliant idea dawned upon him like the morning light of blessing in his home world. Or maybe like the attack of a Hellasaur on a camping trip. Little sneaky cannibalistic bastards wouldn’t hesitate to steal one’s catch of the day, even if it was the tail of its own brother.

First, the hell with the Punishment Squad. But the man couldn’t force his Reapers to make any drastic moves. Aunder himself could take them, but the Reapers, well, they still required more of the man’s masterful training before they would be ready. Dire, their superior, would struggle, but survive. And even then, there was simply no point of risking her. His apprentice.

That left simply doing tasks himself as he always had. Waiting around wasn’t his style anyway. There was so much to do, but so little time. But hey, at least he no longer had to worry about the scornful shit-eating gazes of the Watchers. There would be no more interference. And when he encountered the other players, Aunder would put them out of their misery. Maybe. They were pathetic weaklings in combat and the man doubted they could improve without being given at least a year or four. Time which he wasn’t sure he had.

Every thread he had constructed was coming together and soon, the Forgotten Party would be known throughout the entire multiverse. They would be the sole people who had the balls to stand up to Celestial, wipe them out, and then take over. And by take over, leave the thrones empty for everyone to decide things for themselves. Afterlife? Fuck it. Somebody was bound to construct some magical automated system to take people to their desired worlds. That wasn’t Aunder’s problem.

Celestial had drafted him into this death game to die for nothing and he was going to do something about them. And the Stone, their symbol, their hero who would kill and fight simply because they told him to. He would make the Stone’s death as painful as possible.

“Heh, the taint’s seeping into my thoughts again,” Aunder said as he sat up. “The taint beckons me to kill the Stone, supposedly the symbol of Celestial. I’ve got other plans to snap into place in order to make sure nothing goes wrong.”

“Master Aunder, are you well?” a voice asked from outside his door. “I heard stirring.”

Aunder waved, causing the door to open by itself. What he saw wasn’t a Viper Maiden… In fact, seeing her here surprised the fuck out of him and also sent chills up the man’s spine.

“You know, these maid outfits are quite cute,” Fatalus said then winked.

“How in shits hell did you find this place?” Aunder asked.

She laughed. “Really now, are you in a position to be questioning me, worm?”

Aunder shook his head. “Apparently I hadn’t left enough of an impression with my power increases or the last time you pulled your trickery to escape. Now you have the nerve to come into my room, stain my forgotten honor.
