AT HOME/AT THE GYM
AT HOME: Lift and rotate your torso. From the starting position, place your arms along your sides with your palms flat on the floor. Space your legs hip-width apart. Keeping your head and spine aligned, lift your torso off the floor and reach back with your right hand, using an upward and turning motion as if you are reaching for something behind you. Return to the starting position.
AT THE GYM: Try a variation of this move on a stability ball. Lie belly-down on the ball with your feet on the floor and your toes turned inward. Place your hands behind your head with your fingertips touching, or allow your arms to hang off the sides of the ball. Lift your torso as high as you can while maintaining balance and proper form, then return to the starting position. Exhale as you lift, inhale as you lower.
