RON

January 10

El Paraíso, a club known for its vibrant ambiance and shady clientele, was revving up for the evening activity when the team arrived. Ron, along with his team, sat in an unmarked van, monitoring the operation. Ana and Hernandez went inside minutes ago. Thumping music echoed through the agents’ mics, and colorful lights flashed in their pinhole cameras.

The two agents split up to cover more ground, each slipping into their assumed roles. Ana’s elegance and confident demeanor made her the perfect high roller, while Hernandez, with his rugged looks, blended in as a supplier.

She navigated the crowd while maintaining a nonchalant exterior and ordered a drink at the bar. Soon, a man who matched Nunez’s description—suave, with a predatory charm—approached her.

“I haven’t seen you before,” the man said.

She turned to him, smiling. “A friend suggested this place to do some business.”

Good. Ron exhaled. The guy’s resemblance to their target didn’t escape her notice.

“Yeah? Who’s this friend?”

“Marco, you know him?” She sipped her club soda, the movement blurring their visual contact through the camera.

“Ah, Marco, yes.” The guy leaned closer. “So what kind of business are we talking about?”

“High stakes.” Her tone drifted through the mic, soft and suggestive. “I have a keen interest in lucrative ventures.”

The man cocked his head, his interest clearly piqued. “You’ve come to the right place. I might have what you’re looking for.”

She kept the conversation flowing.

Meanwhile, Hernandez had made his way to the back room under the guise of discussing supply details. His camera spotted an imposing figure overseeing the operations—Frankie. No mistaking his presence, not when the man exuded authority and danger.

Ron held his breath as Hernandez approached, keeping casual. “Marco told me this was the place for quality supplies. I’m looking to make some connections.”

Frankie traced a finger along the scar running from his ear to his chin. Maybe it was a habitual gesture, or maybe it was meant to be intimidating. “Depends on what you’re offering and what you’re asking for.”

“Top-notch stuff and discretion,” Hernandez replied.

Back in the main area, Ana kept things going, letting them glean as much as possible. Her contact talked about his operations, but dropped subtle hints that linked him to organized crime activities.

“Let’s just say my connections can open doors for you.” The man locked his gaze on her.

“This is Nunez.” Ron spoke into the mic.

She touched her ear to indicate she heard him. “I’m always interested in expanding my network. Maybe we can discuss this in a more private setting?”

The man smiled and raised his glass, indicating he liked the idea. “Why not? Let’s talk business.”

As they moved to a quieter corner, Ron refocused on Hernandez’s camera. The agent kept an eye on Frankie, his camera capturing the club’s layout and multiple interactions.

Meanwhile, Ana’s conversation with the man proved to be more challenging than they anticipated. Every attempt to steer the topic toward his boss was met with evasive or boastful responses. He carried himself with an air of arrogance, talking as if he was the one in charge, the top of the hierarchy.
