Paulina shared very openly and vulnerably about some of the challenging circumstances she walked through in life and how they affected her. All of us have parts of our history that are painful or broken. Those areas can deeply affect us and carry through to our present mindsets and emotions if we don’t address them together with God. Paulina’s father was an alcoholic, which made their home unsafe. Her sisters were older, so she was the only one left at home from a young age. The spiritual climate was also intense, and she struggled with fear at times. All of this affected her views of God and of herself. It later carried into her relationship with her husband.

Thankfully, God brought her into a beautiful process of healing and restoration. She notes that it took nearly three years. Often, we want a quick fix, but for deep wounds from our past, there is often a process (or multiple processes) to walk through with God. The main focus was on identity, God’s true identity and her own identity as His daughter. It is so important to know God as He truly is and allow Him to heal every broken place in our hearts that doesn’t believe He is a good Father. When we really know who we are as unconditionally loved children of the Most High God, everything changes. Everything changes.

Paulina and her husband both went on this journey. They were honest with God, friends, and each other. Now they are spiritual parents for many. When we overcome with God, we have the great privilege to help others on their similar journeys. This is the beauty of kingdom family. Paulina and Rene help people know their identity, know how much God loves them, and then obey God as He leads them into calling and destiny. Paulina also trains others vocally, sharing her giftings as a worship leader.

Paulina is an amazing worship leader. She has natural talent and grew up singing, but that is definitely not the most important thing. I believe the journey of healing and identity she allowed the Lord to lead her through is a key to her anointing in worship. The more you know God, the more you can truly worship. Worship is for Him. You can give an offering to the worthy, beautiful, holy King of kings. Worship also changes our hearts. It draws us even closer into His presence and His love for us.

After identity, Paulina teaches on authority. That is the next step of knowing who we are in God. He gives us authority to trample snakes and scorpions and tear down strongholds. There is a real battle going on, and we need to take our place as sons and daughters of victory. Worship is warfare. It shifts the atmosphere.

Whether you are a worship leader or not, you can be a worshipper. You are also a son or a daughter, and you have the very best Father. If you are still struggling with identity or with issues from your past, take the time to heal.
